Tech Lead / Engineering Lead (PHP/Go)

International iGaming operator seeks Tech Lead / Engineering Lead to drive engineering, product, and delivery, translating business goals into technical solutions, with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability.

We are an international iGaming operator successfully operating for over 10 years, mainly in CIS countries, now in a rebirth stage of active growth and transformation. Responsibilities: Business & Product - Participate in roadmap formation and prioritization of initiatives together with Product and Business. - Translate business tasks into technical solutions and implementation plans. - Evaluate initiatives in terms of impact, effort, time-to-market, and risks. - Balance delivery speed, quality, technical debt, and product stability. Technical Leadership - Make and validate architectural decisions, APIs, and integrations. - Responsible for scalability, performance, reliability, and security. - Manage technical risks and technical debt. - Develop engineering practices: code review, testing, CI/CD, observability, documentation, release management. Delivery & Team - Responsible for delivery of initiatives from estimation and decomposition to production. - Manage backlog, priorities, dependencies, and team capacity. - Control deadlines, risks, and blockers. - Coordinate Engineering with Product, Business, and other technical teams.

Strong software engineering background and technical leadership experience. Experience in iGaming / Betting / Gambling / FinTech or another high-load transactional B2C product. Confident understanding of PHP-based systems and experience with legacy code. Good understanding of APIs, integrations, event-driven architecture, CI/CD, Docker, observability. Experience with databases, analytical storages, caching, and message brokers. Experience managing delivery, priorities, dependencies, capacity, and technical risks. Strong communication skills and experience interacting with Product / Business. Ability to explain complex technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders. Tech stack: Backend: PHP 7.4, Drupal 6 (custom architecture), MySQL 8, PostgreSQL 16, Redis, ClickHouse, MinIO, Kafka, Docker, Traefik, GitLab CI, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Node.js 20. Frontend: Backbone.js 1.2.3, Bootstrap 2.3.2, jQuery 1.9.1 / 3.5.1, Grunt 1.6.1.
