Head of Engineering / CTO (FinTech, Highload)

Head of Engineering/CTO for a highload FinTech product, fully remote, $10,000-15,000/month, leading a team of 25.

We are developing our own highload FinTech product with a large user base, high requirements for fault tolerance, security, and performance. We are looking for a strong technical leader who can be trusted with full management of the engineering organization. We need not just an experienced architect, not a lead developer, and not a task coordinator. We are looking for a person who can make decisions independently, manage team leads, see technical and organizational risks, ensure plans are executed, and systematically develop the engineering organization. Key responsibilities: • Management of the engineering organization: leading Backend, Frontend, DevOps, and QA, developing technical leads, improving team efficiency. • Delivery and resourcing: planning and executing the roadmap, forecasting timelines, managing priorities, dependencies, and risks. • Architecture and quality: developing technical architecture, controlling engineering standards, code quality, and technical debt. • Security and Production Reliability: managing technical risks, vulnerabilities, monitoring, incidents, and fault tolerance. • Development: forming the technical roadmap, improving processes and engineering culture, implementing initiatives aligned with business priorities.

• Experience managing an engineering organization of about 20-50 people and several technical leads. • Strong backend background and deep understanding of complex system architecture. • Practical experience with highload production systems. • Understanding of DevOps, infrastructure, security, and fault tolerance. • Experience managing incidents, technical risks, resources, and delivery. • Ability to independently solve complex technical problems and dive into code when necessary. • Strong leadership qualities, proactivity, and accountability for results. Our stack: Node.js, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, ClickHouse, Vue.js. Experience with it will be an advantage, but a deep technical base and the ability to understand complex systems are more important.
