SRE Engineer at Yandex Books. We are building a service for text and audiobooks, comics, and synthetic voiceovers. The tech stack includes Apache Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL, S3, Data Transfer, Temporal. Product development is in Kotlin, automation in Go. Responsibilities include infrastructure automation, support and maintenance, and implementing best practices.

We are building a service where there are text books, audio books, comics and synthetic voiceovers. We integrate with other Yandex products and develop new solutions for book scenarios. In the technology stack, we prefer open source, internal Yandex tools and our own solutions. Almost all of our infrastructure is hosted in Yandex Cloud. We use Apache Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL, S3, Data Transfer, Temporal. We develop products in pure Kotlin, and automation in Go. What tasks await you: • Infrastructure automation You will create solutions in the form of scripts and microservices in Go to automate the creation of the service, its operation and infrastructure. • Support and maintenance You will need to analyze emergency situations, solve problems, improve monitoring, optimize and maintain the system. • Implementation of practices You will implement best practices and tools together with other teams and the general infrastructure of Yandex (protection against DDoS attacks and robots, ensuring information security, working with Service Mesh, CI/CD tools, and much more).

We expect you to: • Have worked with Unix systems (Ubuntu) and the console • Know how network protocols work and why routing is needed • Understand how user applications interact with the OS, be familiar with system calls, processes, and trends • Program in Python, Golang or Java or want to learn it • Want to develop, learn technologies and tools It will be a plus if you: • Have worked with Kafka, Postgres, Redis, Temporal, S3 • Have experience with project on-call duty • Have designed and developed high-load systems • Know how to build a microservice architecture • Know how to set up a CI/CD process
