Senior Python Developer (payments)

Senior Python Developer for a payment platform, remote work, full-time. 6+ years experience.

Develop the architecture and backend of the company's payment platform, ensuring fault tolerance and scalability. Integrate international PSPs, acquirers, and payment orchestrators. Implement routing, cascading, and retry logic to improve approval rates. Develop recurring payments, subscription billing, and rebill processes. Work with the full card payment lifecycle: 3DS, authorization, capture, void, refund, dispute, and chargeback. Ensure correctness of financial operations: handle webhooks and indeterminate statuses, implement idempotency, and reconcile payments. Develop APIs, internal services, payment analytics, monitoring, and alerts. Integrate tokenization, Apple Pay/Google Pay, anti-fraud solutions, and chargeback prevention services; contribute to PCI DSS compliance.

At least 4 years of commercial backend development, including solid experience with Python, production services, and architecture design. At least 2 years in the payment domain: experience developing or enhancing payment infrastructure and understanding how its components work together. Practical experience integrating with international PSPs, acquirers, or orchestrators, and working with multiple payment providers. Experience implementing payment logic: routing, cascading, retries, recurring payments, or subscription billing. Must be able to explain decisions and handle related tasks. Understanding of the card payment lifecycle, handling of declines and refunds, and prevention of double charges. Experience with FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Docker, and REST API; understanding of fault-tolerant and scalable service design. Autonomy: ability to estimate and decompose tasks, justify technical decisions, and take responsibility for them after launch. English from B1. Nice to have: experience with Network Tokens, tokenization for recurring payments, Apple Pay/Google Pay; integration of anti-fraud solutions, Ethoca, Visa RDR, or similar; frontend experience with JavaScript/TypeScript/React: payment forms, checkout, admin panels; server administration and migration, monitoring setup, and backups.
