Backend Developer (Java Spring / Node.js)

Backend Developer (Java Spring / Node.js) at HeadStart, salary $3000-$3500, full-time, office in Moscow or Saint Petersburg. Develop server logic, design DB schemas, build ETL/ELT pipelines, and design highload architectures.

Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain server-side logic using Java Spring and Node.js - Design database schemas, optimize queries, work with transactions, indexes, and scalability (PostgreSQL, ClickHouse) - Build ETL/ELT pipelines, write analytical queries, aggregations, and materialized views in Data Warehouse - Design highload architectures, selecting optimal solutions for specific load and data volume - Accelerate development using AI-IDE and assistants (Cursor, Codex, Claude Code), controlling quality of results

Requirements: - Proficient in Java Spring and Node.js - Practical experience with PostgreSQL and ClickHouse - Good knowledge of data structures and algorithms, ability to choose solutions under load - Practical experience with ORM, understanding their limitations under high load, and ability to write raw SQL when necessary - Experience with queues (RabbitMQ, Bull, Kafka) and caching (Redis), including cache invalidation strategies - Experience using AI tools in development (Cursor, Codex, Claude Code) - Not afraid of responsibility and non-trivial tasks, bring work to results Nice to have: - Understanding of context engineering and ability to formulate prompts effectively
