Team Lead PHP (Highload / iGaming)

Team Lead PHP for an iGaming company with 10 years of history. Lead a team of Senior engineers, drive architecture, and manage a highload platform.

Manage the team: hire, grow, and mentor Senior PHP engineers. Build onboarding, conduct 1-on-1s, performance reviews, and ensure long-term motivation. Drive architecture: make key architectural decisions, design scalable solutions in PHP, and maintain high engineering standards. Responsible for Delivery: build and optimize Agile (Scrum/Kanban) processes, help with decomposition, estimation, and planning. Manage Highload and Data: design databases for high loads, profile and optimize complex MySQL queries, maintain analytics in ClickHouse. Develop Event-Driven Architecture (EDA): design asynchronous interaction between microservices using Apache Kafka. Ensure Reliability: be responsible for production stability, drive monitoring initiatives (Prometheus, Grafana), manage incident reviews and post-mortems.

2+ years of experience as Team Lead or Tech Lead (managing a PHP team, hiring and developing Senior engineers, servant leadership mindset). 6+ years of PHP experience (expert knowledge of PHP 8.x, OOP, SOLID, design patterns). Excellent knowledge of Symfony and/or Laravel. Advanced MySQL knowledge (replication, indexes, locks, performance tuning, concurrent access). Confident with Redis and real production experience with Apache Kafka and ClickHouse. Hands-on experience with infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Linux. Experience with Go.

Format: 100% remote outside Russia with synchronization to Prague time (CET). Location: work from anywhere in the world (except Russia). Contract: B2B (individual entrepreneur). Salary: fixed in euros, based on your expectations. Vacation and health: 20 paid working days of vacation, 3 sick days per year without certificates, plus paid sick leave (60%).
