Tax Lead / Legal Counsel

Tax Lead/Legal Counsel for a digital assets and payments company in Limassol, Cyprus. Full-time role requiring in-house tax expertise in regulated financial environments.

We are hiring a Tax Lead / Legal Counsel for a company in the digital assets, payments, electronic money, and financial services industry. Responsibilities include leading tax strategy, structuring, and compliance, particularly in crypto and digital asset tax issues, economic substance, transfer pricing, and FATCA/CRS reporting.

Prior in-house tax experience at a regulated financial institution, payment institution, electronic money issuer, or digital asset business. Exposure to VARA, DFSA, CySEC, FSC, or FCA regulated environments. Experience with crypto and digital asset tax classification (tokens, DeFi yield, staking rewards, NFTs). Familiarity with economic substance and transfer pricing in low-tax jurisdictions. Experience with financial instruments like CFDs, total return swaps, convertible loans, repos. Exposure to FATCA/CRS reporting obligations.
