11 bit studios is looking for a Technical Artist to join the team working on Frostpunk 1886. In this role, you will create high-quality materials and develop technical solutions to support the art pipeline. You will collaborate closely with artists and programmers to ensure assets are optimized, visually consistent, and production-ready within Unreal Engine 5. Responsibilities: • Create high-quality materials and shaders in Unreal Engine 5 • Develop and maintain tools using Blueprints and code • Document tools, workflows, and engine limitations • Optimize assets and assist with profiling and debugging • Collaborate with art, tech, and QA teams to meet technical standards
• Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine materials and shading workflows • Understanding of UE5 rendering pipeline, PBR, and post-processing • Experience with Blueprints for tools or gameplay support • Solid problem-solving skills and optimization mindset • For senior level: experience on at least one shipped project Nice to Have: • Knowledge of VFX or lighting • Experience with procedural tools such as Substance Designer • Familiarity with shader languages (HLSL, GLSL) • Experience with 3D software (Blender, Maya, 3ds Max) • Experience working closely with both artists and programmers
