Akvelon is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for a remote role (Poland preferred) to build reliable production AI. Responsibilities include developing, validating, and monitoring ML models, collaborating with engineers, and communicating insights to business teams.

Akvelon is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join a team building the foundation for reliable production AI. This role sits at the intersection of statistics, ML, and production engineering: you won't just train models — you'll ensure they work reliably in real-world conditions. What you'll do: - Develop, validate, and tune ML models for business use cases - Collaborate closely with engineers to design models with deployment in mind - Design experiments and conduct statistical quality assessments - Monitor models in production: drift, accuracy, reliability - Build dashboards and translate insights for product and business teams - Contribute to deployment pipelines and APIs for ML systems - Provide recommendations on model retraining and improvement

5+ years applying ML and statistics to business problems Strong Python: pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow Deep knowledge of statistical methods: supervised/unsupervised learning, experimental design Proficient SQL + experience with Snowflake Hands-on experience with AWS and understanding of model deployment/monitoring workflows Excellent communication skills: bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders Proactive mindset and ability to thrive in cross-functional teams Nice to have: - Experience with R, Java, or Go - Production ML workflows, telemetry, or GenAI systems - Data visualization and business storytelling skills - Mentoring experience and driving DS standards within a team
