Python Backend Engineer (CyberSec)
Python Backend Engineer role in a tech startup focused on anomaly detection systems for online services. Requires background in InfoSec/Networking, Python experience, and Linux skills. Remote, full-time position with salary 100-200K RUB.
We are a technology startup developing a traffic anomaly detection system to protect online services from fraud by identifying VPN/proxy usage. This role is within our R&D department, focusing on cybersecurity research. We are looking for individuals with an engineering mindset who are tired of repetitive feature development and want to apply their skills in a challenging environment. We particularly welcome candidates from InfoSec/Networking backgrounds who are proficient in Python, such as network engineers, pentesters, SOC analysts, and reverse engineers.
Background in InfoSec/Networking (relevant education or proven experience like cybersecurity/network administration, CTF, pet projects, open-source). Python experience of at least 1 year of commercial experience, focusing on clean, scalable code and convenient REST APIs. Networking knowledge below the level of requests/aiohttp, including TCP handshake, TLS ClientHello, DNS. Practical experience with tcpdump and Wireshark. Proficient Linux user, comfortable with the console and understanding the kernel's network stack. Ability to read and understand existing code, including legacy code and research scripts. Soft skills (critical for us): Autonomy and proactivity: you should be able to take initiative and manage your tasks without constant supervision. Readiness to delve deep: our product's logic requires in-depth analysis of data rather than simple online searches. You will collaborate with research engineers, discuss hypotheses together, and it's okay to ask questions. The key is to investigate and understand rather than wait for step-by-step instructions.
Remote, full-time. Salary: 100-200K RUB net (payments in USDT are possible). Higher salary considered for experienced candidates. Minimal bureaucracy, maximum engineering freedom. Development opportunities in CyberSec. Location: Russia or Belarus.
