Principal Legal Engineer

Microsoft seeks a Principal Legal Engineer in Redmond, USA. Requires JD, 6+ years legal practice, legal tech experience, and CRM/Dynamics 365 skills. Full-time, $147k–$278k/year.

Work with engineers to transform platform and connected services data into a unified view of adoption, throughput, system health, and emerging trends for leaders. Ensure platform confidence by collaborating with engineers to maintain and improve the CPS tech stack. Create AI-driven agents, Scout, Copilot, and other prompts for legal solutions. Collaborate with lawyers to rethink legal work organization, translating insights into platform requirements and training. Part of Customer & Partner Solutions (CPS), bridging legal and commercial teams supporting Microsoft commerce, Microsoft Elevate, Deal Desk, and partner interactions.

Juris Doctor or equivalent international degree and 6+ years as a practicing lawyer or similar experience. 5+ years in a specialized legal area (e.g., tax, labor, copyright). 3+ years as in-house counsel. 5+ years in legal tech, legal support, or technical project implementation in regulated or professional consulting settings. Hands-on experience with CRM or case management platforms, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365, including configuration and customization, not just administration.
