Lead Game Designer / Technical Designer (UE5) needed for an indie studio developing a 3D third-person game with a focus on systemic gameplay. Responsibilities include designing core gameplay, NPC behavior, level design, and balancing systems. Requires 2+ years of experience and UE5 proficiency.
We are an indie studio developing a 3D third-person game with a focus on systemic gameplay and playthrough variability. Currently, we are looking for a game designer who can design mechanics and lead the design direction. Tasks: - Designing and developing core gameplay (AI, interactions, player abilities). - Designing systems: NPC behavior, sandbox interactions. - Level design: building immersive spaces, routes, points of interest. - Creating varied playthrough scenarios. - Balancing and tuning game systems. - Working in Unreal Engine 5: - working with C++ - configuring Blueprint logic - working with data and parameters - prototyping mechanics - Setting tasks for the team and synchronizing development.
Important: - Game designer experience of 2+ years - Proven experience in bringing a project to release is mandatory - Confident experience with Unreal Engine 5 (Blueprints, system configuration, independent implementation of mechanics) - System design skills (AI, sandbox, emergent gameplay) - Experience with Git or similar tools - Ability to take responsibility for decisions and lead the direction
