Extreme Developers is a company specializing in the development of computer and mobile games, founded in 2014. The studio is known for creating multiplayer action games, among which the tank shooter Tank Force is the most notable. Responsibilities: - Lead a small team of game designers (2-3 people): mentoring, reviewing, and collaborating on systems. - Design and develop economy, progression, and balance (calculations, spreadsheets, hypotheses, adjustments). - Support the development of game features, including personally: from idea and documentation to release and tuning. - Prepare structured design documents, write technical specifications. - Work with metrics in design and hypothesis testing. - Collaborate with the team (product, project, game design, programmers, artists, QA). - Play the game, analyze the player experience, and propose specific improvements, not general ideas.
Requirements: - Experience as a Senior/Lead Game Designer for at least 2 years, with regular hands-on work on projects: calculations, documentation, system tuning. - Experience with mobile multiplayer free-to-play games (midcore). - Experience working independently with economy and progression: calculations, hypotheses, data-driven adjustments. - Understanding and practical experience in developing core mechanics and meta in a live project. - Ability to write clear, structured design documents and formulate requirements for development. - Systems thinking and ability to use game metrics to test and improve game design decisions. - Understanding of basic UI/UX principles. Nice to have: - Experience with projects in the tank PvP combat genre. - Experience with Unity as a game designer (prototyping, parameter tuning, working with configs). - Understanding of differences in player behavior in the Russian, US, UK, and German markets. - Experience conducting economic and balance reviews of projects, with specific improvement proposals. - Portfolio describing your personal role in projects: what systems you designed, what you were personally responsible for, what decisions you made.
What we offer: - Competitive salary and flexible schedule. - Small project and an autonomous team where the Lead Game Designer manages their systems from idea to release. - Open discussion of ideas with team members. - A culture that values initiative and reasoned decisions. - Work in a friendly atmosphere of a product team. Important! This role involves deep immersion in the project and hands-on work. If you have primarily been involved in product management, strategy, or managing large departments without personal involvement in system design in recent years, this position is likely not for you.
