Head of Finance & Accounting

Pheon is hiring a remote Head of Finance & Accounting to build the finance and accounting function from scratch. Requires 6+ years in finance/accounting, fluent English, and international tax expertise.

Responsibilities: - Strategic leadership of the finance and accounting function from scratch (sole in-house representative at the start, building the function independently) - Preparation and analytical support of key reporting: P&L, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet, management reports, and consolidated reporting - Control of accounting processes, ensuring accuracy of financial data and full compliance in target jurisdictions (Cyprus, US, etc.) - Managing interaction with external accountants, auditors, tax consultants, and legal contractors (preparation and filing of tax returns) - Developing tax planning strategy, risk management, and expense control - Process optimization: controlling, contract approval, invoicing, and payments - Implementing finance automation, internal controls, and compliance policies - Financial partnership for the Founder & C-Level team, preparing strategic analytics and financial models

Requirements: - 6+ years of experience in finance and accounting, including preferably 2+ years in a leadership role (Head of Finance, Finance Director, Lead Accountant) - Deep expertise in building and maintaining P&L, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet, and management accounting - Knowledge of international tax planning, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements (Cyprus, US — an advantage) - Proven experience managing outsourcing providers (accounting, tax advisors, auditors) and teams - Practical experience in building and scaling financial processes from scratch - Fluent English (Upper-Intermediate / Advanced) Nice to have: - Experience in product/tech companies, understanding of subscription business, implementation of ERP/Payment systems, experience in M&A and audit
