Head of DevOps in International Bank

Head of DevOps role at an international fintech bank. Build and scale an Internal Developer Platform, lead DevOps/SRE team, implement AI tools. Salary $10k-$12k/month, on-site, full-time.

International bank invites a Director of DevOps to build and scale an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) as a full product. Responsibilities include: - Building IDP as a product: self-service infrastructure, standardized CI/CD pipelines, well-defined golden paths for engineering teams. - Ensuring end-to-end SDLC automation, aiming for near-zero manual intervention and toil elimination. - Leading and developing a team of DevOps/SRE engineers, fostering an automation-first culture with high responsibility and accountability. - Integrating AI tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot) into engineering processes: accelerating development, IaC generation, incident analysis and root cause analysis automation, optimizing CI/CD pipelines and testing. - Designing and maintaining scalable CI/CD systems with fast feedback loops and automatic quality gates (unit/integration/e2e tests, SAST/DAST, dependency and container scanning). - Implementing IaC and CaC as standard practices (Terraform, Ansible, etc.). - Developing observability stack (metrics, logs, traces) and promoting SLO/SLI-based reliability practices, error budgets, blameless postmortems. - Embedding security by design into the platform: RBAC, secrets management, network policies, automated compliance control. - Optimizing infrastructure and cloud costs.

Candidate requirements: - Experience: 5+ years in DevOps/SRE/Platform Engineering, including team leadership experience. - Technical stack: deep expertise in Kubernetes and container ecosystems; experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure); proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and configuration management (Ansible); strong scripting/programming skills (Python, Go or similar); experience with observability (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry); understanding of reliability engineering (SLOs, SLIs, error budgets); DevSecOps and modern security approaches; SQL and NoSQL databases. - Experience building Internal Developer Platform or similar self-service ecosystems for engineers. - Practical experience integrating AI tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot) into engineering processes. - Ability to improve SDLC metrics: lead time, deployment frequency, MTTR, change failure rate. - Excellent English — all communication in the team and with stakeholders is in English. - Experience in fast-growing high-load environments will be an advantage.
