Game Designer
Oros is looking for a Game Designer for a new game. Project work from 8 months, outsourcing, flexible schedule (full-time preferred). Requires experience with successful published games. Market-rate compensation.
– Creation and maintenance of GDD (Game Design Document): forming and supporting up-to-date detailed project documentation, including high-level vision, design pillars, technical specifications for programmers, artists, and other specialists. – Design of game mechanics: development and detailed description of core gameplay and meta-gameplay, creation and development of mathematical models, progression systems, economy, perks/abilities, and balance. – Script refinement and decomposition: creation of the structure for main and side quests, dialogue branches, multiple outcomes, and character interaction logic. – System integration: setting up interconnections between story events and game functions (triggers, variables, flags, game conditions, and player choice consequences). – Level and environment design from a narrative perspective: creating location structures, episode pacing, placing narrative elements (interactive objects, environmental storytelling), and ensuring a logical story flow through space. – Development of interaction systems: designing mechanics for dialogues, player choices, reputation, relationships with NPCs, and their influence on the world and plot. – Balancing and polishing: regular analysis and adjustment of difficulty, pacing, risk/reward, as well as eliminating imbalances between gameplay and narrative. – Participation in playtests and iterations: analyzing feedback from testers, collecting playthrough metrics, making corrections to mechanics and content structure based on data and reviews. – Collaboration with the team: participation in brainstorming sessions, regular reviews with the narrative designer, programmers, and artists to ensure the integrity of the game experience. – Support of the overall game vision: assisting in defining and maintaining key features, limiting scope, and prioritizing features at different stages of development.
Mandatory, verifiable by you or your previous employer, experience with successful published games created with your participation.
