Embedded Systems Engineer (Embedded / IoT)

Embedded Systems Engineer (Embedded / IoT) at TechVill. Configure and integrate vending machine software, controllers, payment systems, telemetry, and Linux-based infrastructure. No salary specified.

Tasks: — Configure software for Chinese-made vending machines, controllers, sensors, and product dispensing modules. — Update firmware (OTA), modify configurations, localize and adapt firmware and interfaces to our scenarios. — Integrate payment systems: QR, bank cards, NFC, mobile wallets; ensure correctness and security of on-device payment operations. — Integrate machines with control server and database. — Set up telemetry, remote monitoring, and alerts: uptime, dispensing failures, payment errors, sensor status. — Diagnose software and hardware failures, investigate on-site incidents, drive to permanent solutions. — Define technical requirements for suppliers, accept firmware and configurations, verify reproducibility and compatibility with our infrastructure. — Standardize configurations, create commissioning checklists, and technical documentation.

Requirements: — Experience programming embedded systems. — Experience with vending machines or automated retail machines. — Understanding of vending protocols: MDB, OTA. — Hardware interfaces: UART, RS-232, RS-485 (Modbus), CAN, USB, Ethernet. — Network and wireless protocols: Wi-Fi, MQTT, HTTP/REST. — Confident work with Linux, scripting in Python/Bash. — Skills in diagnosing hardware interfaces, working with multimeter and oscilloscope. — English at the level of reading technical documentation. — Higher technical or IT education, or relevant practical experience. Nice to have: — Experience with Chinese vending platforms and suppliers. — Experience in industrial or home automation. — Integrations via REST API, IoT platforms, and remote device fleet management systems. — Git, Docker, basic CI/CD practices. — Experience operating 24/7 equipment and handling on-site incidents. — Experience scaling and standardizing a device fleet.
