Data Science Intern (DS Research)

Paid internship at Avito (Moscow office) for 9 months. Conduct applied research, reproduce methods from papers, run offline experiments, and prepare publications with DS teams.

Avito is looking for a Data Science Intern for the DS Research team. The internship combines science and product: you will study modern methods, adapt them to Avito's tasks, conduct experiments, and publish results. Responsibilities: — Read and analyze modern scientific papers on a given topic. — Reproduce methods from publications, work with authors' code, and adapt it to Avito's tasks. — Conduct offline experiments, compare approaches, analyze results. — Implement solutions in Python code. — Prepare reviews and presentations of results for the team. — Participate in preparing scientific papers together with the supervisor. — Work closely with DS teams so research reaches PoC and AB tests.

— Studying in 2nd–4th year of bachelor's, 4th–5th year of specialist, or already graduated in technical, mathematical, or IT field. — Ability to write research code in Python and work with ML libraries. — Proficiency in SQL and understanding of data handling. — Experience in research projects or writing scientific papers. — English sufficient to read scientific articles.
