Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) & Legal Counsel

International fintech company Paysonix seeks Chief Compliance Officer & Legal Counsel to lead compliance, support EMI licensing in Cyprus, and build AML/KYC, sanctions, and risk functions. Requires 8+ years compliance/financial legal experience.

Paysonix is an international fintech company providing payment acceptance solutions. The company is obtaining an EMI license in Cyprus and is looking for a person to lead the compliance direction and support the licensing process. Responsibilities: - Support obtaining the EMI license and interact with the Central Bank of Cyprus - Build and develop AML/CFT, KYC/KYB, sanctions compliance, and transaction monitoring - Build the risk management and internal control function - Support regulatory audits and inspections - Assess new products and markets from a compliance perspective - Oversee key legal matters and contracts with banks, acquirers, Visa/Mastercard, and partners - Gradually form a compliance/AML/risk/legal team

8+ years of experience in compliance and/or financial legal 3+ years of responsibility for the compliance function Mandatory practical experience in a licensed EMI or payment company Experience obtaining licensing from an EU/EEA regulator Practical experience with AML/KYC, sanctions, and transaction monitoring Experience interacting with financial regulators Higher legal education English C1/C2 Willingness to be regularly present in Cyprus Nice to have: experience with CBC, launching a compliance function from scratch, ACAMS/ICA/CAMS certifications
