Backend Developer at Intercity, a service for intercity travel. Focus on building a new marketplace, optimizing pricing, and scaling the platform. Requires experience with programming languages, algorithms, and databases.

We are building Intercity – a convenient, accessible, and safe service for intercity travel. We grew from a startup and retain its atmosphere: we make decisions quickly, without bureaucracy, and back up results with metrics. We operate in 3 countries on ~600 routes and have no plans to stop there. What tasks await you: • Product Development: We want to build a new marketplace for intercity travel. Together with the product and mobile development team, you will need to create a simple and understandable flow for passengers and drivers. • Improvement of Pricing Mechanisms: This task involves many factors: fixed prices, surcharges for increased demand, marketing campaigns. The goal is to make prices fair for drivers, understandable and profitable for passengers. • Scaling: The number of passengers and drivers on our service is growing, while we are launching new destinations and countries – we are reviewing technical solutions and adapting them to the constantly increasing load. You will need to design and create new microservices, change the architecture of existing ones, choose suitable databases and communication methods between microservices to ensure high performance and fault tolerance.

We expect you to: • Master a modern programming language • Know classic algorithms and data structures • Be familiar with relational and non-relational databases • Be able to find a balance between product and technical tasks It will be a plus if you: • Have worked with microservice architecture • Have developed in C++ • Know how to cover code with tests – we use the testsuite framework • Know what proprietary data centers are and the requirements for a high level of reliability
