Unreal Engine C++ Developer

CyberMages is looking for an Unreal Engine C++ Developer for the AGRONOM game project. The role is for a middle-level developer to optimize, refactor, and develop game systems, integrate UI, implement new mechanics, and adapt controls. The project is a 1-person farm automation sim on Mars for PC, with a planned Q1 2027 release.

AGRONOM is a 1-person farm automation sim / base-building game on Mars for PC. The player grows crops, builds a base, and automates processes with the help of robot assistants. The project is in active development, has passed two major playtests, and has received positive feedback from major publishers and players. We are currently signing with a publisher. New playtests, a Demo for Steam Next Fest, and a Q1 2027 release are ahead. We are looking for a middle-level developer who will join the active development phase and help with: — optimizing, refactoring, and developing existing game systems within the updated architecture; — integrating new UI into game systems; — implementing new game mechanics according to GDD in conjunction with game design; — documenting technical solutions and maintaining up-to-date system documentation; — adapting controls, UX, and game systems for controllers and Steam Deck.

What's important: — solid C++ experience in Unreal Engine; — experience with C++ + Blueprints; — understanding of game system architecture; — ability to write maintainable and scalable code; — willingness to document technical solutions. Will be a plus: — State Tree; — Mass Entity Framework; — practical experience with DoD / ECS; — understanding of basic replication / client-server principles; — experience in architecture refactoring; — experience adapting for controllers / Steam Deck.

— remote; — preferably full-time, but willing to discuss part-time with a strong candidate; — employment under the Labor Code of the Russian Federation / Civil Law Contract; — regular synchronization in the GMT+3 time zone. Team size: 15 people. Stack and processes: Unreal Engine 5.5, UMG, Perforce, Asana, Obsidian.
