Technical Artist Team Lead (Unity 2D) Mobile Games / LiveOps
Technical Artist Team Lead with Unity 2D experience for mobile games/LiveOps. Full remote role requiring leadership, hands-on technical art skills, and pipeline improvement. Must manage a team of ~13 Technical Artists and handle tasks like build assembly, asset creation, shaders, and optimization. English B2+ required.
We are looking for a Technical Artist Team Lead - a person at the intersection of Unity 2D, technical art, and production management. This is not a Unity programmer role or an engineering lead role. We need someone who can lead, work with their hands, resolve chaos, and manage multiple streams simultaneously. What you will do: - Lead a team of ~13 Technical Artists in three parallel directions (mini-games, platform, LiveOps). - Quickly switch between tasks and help the team when they get stuck. - Assemble builds, monitor quality, stability, and performance. - Work with your hands: animations, assets, shaders, atlases, optimization. - Participate in feature architecture on the Unity side. - Improve pipelines, processes, content flow. - Drive the implementation of AI tools into the team's workflows.
!!!What is important: - Deep experience in Unity 2D. - Understanding of the full mobile game development cycle. - Leadership experience (team of 8-13 people). - Ability to personally connect to technical problems and solve them quickly. - Experience with animations, assets, shaders, atlases, asset bundles. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Ability to work in a dynamic and uncertain environment. - English B2+ - LiveOps experience is a plus. What we will ask at the first step to ensure you are truly a Technical Artist, not a Unity engineer, the recruiter will clarify: - Have you worked with assets in Unity and which ones. - What technical art tasks have you done personally (animations, shaders, optimization, etc.). - What is your experience specifically as a Technical Artist in Unity. - Have you worked with atlases / asset bundles. - Is there LiveOps experience (events, updates). !!!Who the role is not suitable for: - Unity programmers without a technical art background. - Those who have not worked with animations, shaders, atlases, optimization. - Those who have not led teams or have only led small groups. - Those who get lost in multitasking and chaos.
