Polygon Labs is looking for a Staff Protocol Engineer for remote work worldwide. Salary $180,000-260,000/year + tokens/options. Responsibilities include designing solutions for Polygon PoS network scalability and architectural decisions.

Designing and piloting long-term solutions for scalability, latency, and state growth of the Polygon PoS network. Architectural decisions in the PoS codebase, participating in Geth, Cosmos SDK, or CometBFT-based systems. Identifying and resolving technical issues with the protocol, consensus, and state synchronization. Mentoring engineers, maintaining high code quality standards. Collaborating with protocol researchers, DevOps, security, and ecosystem teams.

7+ years of engineering experience (2+ years in senior/staff roles). Deep experience with Golang for distributed systems, consensus, or blockchain infrastructure. Experience with Ethereum clients (Geth) or the Cosmos stack (Cosmos SDK, CometBFT). Ability to lead architecture and improve code quality in fast-growing teams. Comfort working asynchronously with distributed teams across EMEA and US East Coast time zones. Previous contributions to public blockchain protocols or open-source (a plus).

Fully remote, global team. Flexible hours, $1,500 for home office setup, $75 for internet/phone. Company provides a laptop. Work with Ethereum-aligned infrastructure at a massive scale.
