F15, together with a leading global biometric sensor manufacturer, is solving the problem that 542 million people in Africa lack passports and identity documents. We are creating a cross-platform distributed system for managing and storing biometric data. We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager in Belgrade for a team of 3 developers and 3 QA engineers. You will be responsible for the technical direction, delivery timelines, and people development, working closely with the Product Owner of the IB360 product and reporting to the EVP of Product Management. What the manager does in this role: - 1:1s, performance reviews, and career conversations with the team - Technical roadmap of the domain together with the product team - Code reviews, testing, CI/CD, incidents, and architectural standards - Sprint planning, backlog grooming, bug triage, metrics, and velocity - System health monitoring, on-call, and SLA together with service partners

Mandatory requirements: - 6+ years in development, including 2+ years managing an engineering team - One or more languages in practice: Python, Java, C#, .NET - Android, Windows, and Linux, MySQL, gRPC - Building and supporting CI/CD, unit and integration tests - Clouds (AWS or Azure), microservices, and event-driven architecture - Experience hiring, growing, and retaining strong engineers - Agile and complex projects at a fast pace - International development and working across time zones - English sufficient to explain technical things to non-technical stakeholders Nice to have: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering - Distributed systems under high load and large data volumes - Data engineering and platform engineering - Introducing new technologies, processes, or team structure - Open source or participation in the technical community
