Senior UI Technical Artist (Sharkmob)
Sharkmob is seeking a Senior UI Technical Artist for their Exoborne project. The role involves creating UI systems, collaborating with teams, and optimizing UI performance. Based in Malmö, Sweden.
Sharkmob is looking for a Senior UI Technical Artist to join the team working on Exoborne, a tactical open-world extraction shooter set in an apocalyptic United States transformed by extreme natural forces. The role focuses on bridging artistic vision and technical implementation, creating innovative and player-focused UI systems, and collaborating closely with engineers, artists, and designers to deliver high-quality gameplay experiences. Responsibilities • Create interactive UI elements that respond to player actions and enhance gameplay experience • Design and implement UI animations, button interactions, and feedback systems • Collaborate with engineers to implement UI assets and systems into the game engine • Ensure UI elements are integrated, responsive, and optimized for performance • Develop and maintain shaders and materials for UI elements • Create visual effects, animations, and transitions for immersive UI experiences • Contribute to the development and improvement of UI tools and workflows • Streamline UI creation processes together with the UI and UX design team • Mentor and guide junior and intermediate technical artists
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in UI and UX implementation for video games • Exceptional UI implementation skills • Knowledge of modern layouting languages and tools • Strong technical skills • Experience with shaders and scripting such as Python, C#, or HLSL • Experience integrating UI elements within game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity • Solid understanding of game development pipelines • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams • Willingness to adapt to changing project requirements and emerging technologies • Strong written and spoken English • Up to date portfolio showcasing relevant projects Nice to Have • Knowledge of C++ • Experience with Unreal Engine and console development • Strong understanding of UI design principles, typography, layout, and interactivity • Experience with Figma
