Middle+ / Senior / Senior+ DevOps Engineer in Telement
Telement is looking for a DevOps Engineer to build and maintain infrastructure for their corporate messenger. Responsibilities include CI/CD, IaC, Kubernetes, database optimization, incident resolution, and scripting. Salary: $2200 - $4700 net.
Telement is a tech startup building a secure corporate messenger based on the Matrix protocol. We are seeking a proactive DevOps engineer who is not afraid of production incidents, enjoys getting to the root of issues, and is ready to develop the infrastructure with us. What you will do: Design, support, and automate the entire infrastructure (CI/CD, IaC, GitOps); Manage containerized services (Docker, Kubernetes) and support virtual machines (KVM/QEMU is a plus); Optimize and monitor databases (PostgreSQL, MariaDB/MySQL); Investigate and resolve production incidents, participate in Root Cause Analysis; Configure and fine-tune monitoring and alerts (to avoid unnecessary disturbances but catch real problems); Optimize Docker images, speed up pipelines and deployments; Write automation scripts (Python, Bash); Closely collaborate with development to improve deployment, testing, and fault tolerance processes.
What we expect from you: Experience with Ansible automation; Deep understanding of Docker and ability to optimize images (multi-stage, base image selection); Practical experience with Kubernetes orchestration (diagnosing stuck pods, readiness/liveness probes); Confident work with GitLab CI/CD (or equivalents), ability to fix red pipelines, not bypass them; Understanding and application of GitOps approach; Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), familiarity with drift and resource import; Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL and MariaDB/MySQL; Ability to write in Python and Bash for automation; English: reading technical documentation and correspondence; Readiness to honestly analyze own mistakes and draw conclusions. Will be a plus: Experience working in startups or small product teams; Experience with infrastructure in highload environments; Experience with KVM/QEMU and networks (OpenVPN, WireGuard, VLESS); Experience setting up monitoring and alerts from scratch (Prometheus, Grafana, VictoriaMetrics, etc.); Participation in on-call duties and investigation of night incidents; Working with secrets: Vault, CI variables, scanning repositories for secrets; Proficiency in additional programming languages.
