Middle/Senior Scala Engineer

Remote Middle/Senior Scala Engineer for Caterpillar project at Comtek. Build high-performance backend systems. Salary $5400-$6600/month, full-time B2C contract.

Scala Engineer is responsible for building and optimizing high-performance backend systems that power data-driven applications. In this role, work with modern streaming technologies, distributed processing frameworks, and cloud-native architectures to deliver scalable, reliable, high-availability solutions.

Bachelor's degree (photo of diploma must be presented at application submission); Strong experience in Java, API and service development; 2+ years of professional Scala experience; 2+ years working with Akka, especially for data streaming or distributed systems; Experience with streaming/data pipeline frameworks such as Spark Streaming, Flink, Kafka, Kinesis; Proficiency in building and consuming RESTful APIs; AWS cloud services (serverless, compute, storage, data services) and familiarity with DevOps practices (Azure DevOps); Working written/spoken English B2+.

B2C contract, full-time, 9-month minimum contract, 8 hours a day, 4 hours daily overlap with Chicago (8 a.m. - 12 p.m.), unpaid vacation, salary $5400-$6600 USD before taxes, remote.
