Linux System Administrator

Linux System Administrator at Federal Medical Biological Agency (TsSP FMBA) in Moscow. Salary 250,000–300,000 net, full-time, hybrid. Work with Big Data/ML, virtualization, and distributed storage.

TsSP FMBA conducts scientific research related to the human genome and analysis of obtained data. The development group creates internal services for automating movement, processing, and distributed storage of large volumes of data. Tasks: - Deploy, configure and support infrastructure - Configure and work with virtualization - Interact with the development team on key issues

3+ years as a system administrator in large companies with a geographically distributed structure High level of system administration and troubleshooting of Linux server OS (Ubuntu, CentOS) Virtualization: VMware, Proxmox, KVM Knowledge and practical experience in deploying and maintaining DBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL) Experience designing and deploying Active Directory, understanding architecture and schemes Experience designing and deploying clustered network services DNS, DHCP for both Windows and Linux Knowledge of RAID technologies Experience with network equipment: DELL, MikroTik, Mellanox, HP Knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP, routing, VLAN Experience with server platforms: Dell, Supermicro, IBM Experience implementing and administering terminal farms, knowledge of rules and principles Ability to create client and infrastructure services from scratch Knowledge of main data transfer protocols Practical scripting skills (Bash, Python) Practical experience with Zabbix, writing triggers Certificates are welcome English sufficient to read professional literature Ability to independently master various technical concepts Will be a plus: ability to deploy Ceph (large installations), configure performance, and have experience in operation and updates Important: completed higher education; RF citizenship
