Level Designer
Level Designer for the "Tsarevna" project at WATT Studio. Salary based on interview results. Location: Moscow (Office/Hybrid). Full-time.
WATT Studio is looking for an experienced Level Designer for the "Tsarevna" project, who can create engaging game spaces and build a cohesive player experience. Responsibilities: - Designing levels from concept to whitebox in the engine. - Placing level logic: triggers, enemy spawners, interactive objects. - Writing documentation (Beatchart and LDD) and handing over levels to environment artists, further control and close work with the art department on level asseting. - Iteratively improving levels based on playtest results and team feedback.
2+ years of experience in gamedev (PC/Console). Portfolio with builds of completed levels or recordings of their playthroughs with accompanying documentation, diagrams, and references. Knowledge of Unreal Engine and its tools. Ability to assemble level blocking and whitebox. Skill in writing Blueprints for prototyping combat arenas or platforming. Understanding of composition and scaling fundamentals, navigation, flow, and cycle concepts. Working with metrics and telemetry. Ability to build environment storytelling on the level. Skill in working with World Partition. Placing read points for subsequent work with lighting: where the player should see an enemy/object/marker, etc... Designing transitions to mask loading and lighting changes: turns, tambours, gateways, elevators. Will be a plus: - Experience with Flow Graph. - Experience with level art and understanding how the location will look later. - Experience with Level Sequencer. - Modeling skills in Maya/Blender/UE Modeling Tool.
