Lead Level Artist
Lead Level Artist at Sperasoft in Belgrade, Serbia. Full-time office role focusing on environment art creation, level building, and team mentorship. Negotiable salary.
Sperasoft is growing its environment art team and is looking for a strong Lead Level Artist to elevate both visual quality and team performance. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will actively create environments, build levels, and mentor artists by example, contributing directly to the production pipeline. Responsibilities • Collaborate with Level Designers and Art Director to maintain visual quality and gameplay clarity • Mentor team members by sharing knowledge, techniques, and best practices • Model environment assets including modular pieces, props, terrain elements, and hero assets • Perform set dressing with strong composition and environmental storytelling • Build and polish level art directly in the engine • Ensure performance optimization including LODs, draw calls, and memory usage • Fill gaps in modular kits with high-quality assets • Review team work and provide constructive feedback
• 5+ years of experience in environment art or level art for games • Strong portfolio demonstrating environment modeling and set dressing • Proficiency in 3D tools such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max • Experience with Unreal Engine 5 or Unity • Strong understanding of PBR workflows, texturing tools like Substance, and optimization techniques Nice to Have • Experience working in cross-location teams • Strong artistic eye for composition and storytelling • Experience mentoring or leading artists
