Lead Environment & Lighting Artist
Studio WATT is looking for an experienced Lead Environment & Lighting Artist for the game "Tsarevna". Responsibilities include organizing environment and lighting work, creating atmospheric lighting, and optimizing scenes in Unreal Engine. Requires a portfolio and strong Unreal Engine skills.
Studio WATT is looking for an experienced Lead Environment & Lighting Artist to lead the work on the visual appearance of the locations for the game "Tsarevna". We are looking for an expert who can not only create aesthetic locations but also form a global strategy for lighting and environment. Tasks: - Organizing work on creating locations and setting up lighting. - Setting up expressive, atmospheric lighting of locations, taking into account artistic and narrative tasks. - Forming light compositions and visual accents. - Working with Lumen and baked lighting (depending on the project's technical solutions). - Creating and refining high-quality 3D environments. - Designing scenes considering composition, light, color, and materials to maintain a cohesive visual style. - Working with set dressing, navigation, and narrative environment elements. - Optimizing lighting, assets, and scenes for real-time operation (PBR, LOD, Nanite/Lumen). - Supporting level artists on lighting and environment issues. - Forming and supporting lighting and environment guidelines. - Participating in reviews and team communication on visual and technical requirements. - Opportunity to connect to level art tasks if needed. - Daily reporting and adherence to internal deadlines. - Working in Unreal Engine.
Experience as a Lighting Artist and/or Environment Artist in games or related projects. - Portfolio with examples of lighting and environment work (required). - Confident command of Unreal Engine (lighting, Lumen, Lightmass, environment work). - Understanding of composition, color, contrast, and visual storytelling. - Practical experience in creating and assembling environments (modular assets, materials, set dressing). - Experience in optimizing scenes (lighting and geometry) for real-time. - Understanding of the technical limitations of game engines. - Ability to work in a team and build communication with artists and technical specialists. - Responsibility, independence, adherence to deadlines. Will be a plus: - Experience with procedural tools. - Participation in the development of visual guidelines and pipelines. - Experience with post-processing and color correction.
