Lead 3D Artist (Characters, Environment, Props)
Trinog is hiring a Lead 3D Artist for a mobile F2P magic battler game. Remote, full-time. Market salary.
The studio is looking for a strong 3D artist to build the visual foundation of a mobile competitive game from scratch based on concept art: creating characters, environment, and props, and taking work from idea to final result in Unity. Project: Mobile F2P magic battler on Unity URP. Heroes battle with magic spells in PvP 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3. The game is at an early stage: documentation is complete, interfaces are in draft layouts, content is being finalized, and a prototype is being made. The visual style is yet to be discussed, envisioned as stylized painterly fantasy. Main references: AFK Journey, Arcane. Responsibilities: - Create 3D models of characters, environment, and props in a stylized painterly style. - Perform retopology, UV unwrapping, baking maps, and preparing textures. - Set up materials and assemble assets in Unity. - Optimize models and textures for mobile devices. - Maintain a consistent style and readability of characters and locations in battle. - Set the quality bar in the 3D direction and share experience with the team.
4+ years of experience in creating game 3D assets. Strong portfolio: characters, environment, props. Ability to create stylized assets, including hand-painted textures. Understanding of the low-poly pipeline: topology, UV, baking maps, LOD. Experience with Unity and URP: asset import, materials, basic shader setup. Experience optimizing models and textures for mobile devices. Ability to independently take an asset from reference to engine integration. Will be a plus: - Experience in animation: rigging, skinning, creating character animations (not required). - Experience with Shader Graph. - Experience working on mobile PvP games and stylized fantasy. - Experience leading a small team of artists or mentoring.
Remote, full-time. Market salary, negotiable.
