Java Developer (Middle / Middle+ / Senior)

Remote Java developer position for a Middle/Senior role, 3-6 years experience, part-time, contract with individual entrepreneur, 5/2 schedule.

Develop microservices in Java and Spring Boot; design REST APIs and integrations with external systems; work with PostgreSQL, design schemas and optimize SQL queries; develop and refactor existing code including legacy components; use Kafka or RabbitMQ for messaging; write unit and integration tests, conduct code review; participate in architectural discussions, decomposition and task estimation; work in Agile/Scrum with analysts, testers and DevOps.

Commercial Java development from 3 years for Middle and from 6 years for Senior; solid knowledge of Java 8, 11 or 17 and Spring Boot, Data, Security, MVC; experience in microservices and REST API development; confident work with PostgreSQL and SQL including query optimization; knowledge of Kafka or RabbitMQ; skills with Docker, Kubernetes, Git and CI/CD; writing unit tests with JUnit and Mockito; understanding of OOP, SOLID and clean code principles; ability to decompose tasks, estimate effort and technical risks. Nice to have: projects in banking, fintech, insurance or industrial sectors; knowledge of Kotlin; experience with MongoDB or Redis; familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK or Elasticsearch; use of Camunda, Liquibase or Flyway; development of high-load systems; English at the level of reading technical documentation.
