Intern (Information Security)

Intern (Information Security) at Kaspersky Lab in Moscow. Office-based role focused on security monitoring, incident response, and threat analysis.

• Monitoring coverage of Kaspersky Lab infrastructure by monitoring tools • Updating instructions and procedures for responding to security incidents • Developing simple scripts to respond to security incidents • Monitoring and controlling employee and system compliance with security policies • Participating in security incident response processes • Searching for and analyzing potentially compromised company accounts • Analyzing threats from open data sources • Testing new product features for monitoring and incident response • Verifying developed attack detection methods • Interviewing employees during security incidents and conducting briefings with violators

• University student • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems at administrator level • Understanding of network and internet protocols • Basic programming knowledge, e.g. Python • General understanding of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities • Knowledge of typical attacks on web services and internal company infrastructure • Knowledge of common attack protection measures • Good written and oral communication skills
