Intern Data Engineer (BI)

IT company 'Lotsia' is looking for an intern Data Engineer (BI) to work on ETL processes, data transformation, and BI reporting. Remote work available.

Responsibilities include building ETL processes: developing and configuring pipelines for data collection and transformation from various sources; working with modern transformation stack: learning and applying DBT to turn raw data into clean analytical marts; data orchestration: setting up and supporting workflows (pipelines) in Dagster to ensure timely report updates; managing storage: working with Postgres and high-performance columnar database Clickhouse for report speed; visualizing insights: developing interactive BI reports in Apache Superset to help business make data-driven decisions; optimizing queries: analyzing and accelerating heavy queries to improve overall reporting system performance.

SQL: confident command of the language (complex queries, aggregate functions, understanding of query optimization principles); databases: understanding of relational DB structure (particularly PostgreSQL) and general principles of analytical storage; Python: basic knowledge, ability to write scripts for data processing and automation of simple tasks; analytical mindset: ability to work with large data arrays, identify patterns, and structure information. Nice to have: BI tools: experience creating dashboards in Apache Superset, Tableau, Power BI, or similar systems; ETL/ELT: understanding of data extraction, transformation, and loading concepts; data architecture: understanding the difference between OLTP and OLAP systems (e.g., why Clickhouse is used for analytics); modern stack: interest in DBT (Data Build Tool) or data orchestrators (Airflow, Dagster).
