Yandex Go is looking for a Head of Backend Development to lead a team of 5. The role involves managing the team, technical development, and hypothesis testing for the Intercity travel service. Requires experience leading development teams and understanding development processes.

We are developing Intercity – a convenient, accessible, and safe intercity travel service. We use Yandex Taxi technologies to address accessibility, safety, and convenience challenges for intercity trips. We operate in 3 countries across 600 routes and have no plans to stop there. We are looking for a Head of Backend Development for a team of 5 people. What tasks await you: • Teamwork The team is our main value, and you will help it grow and develop. You will build operational management processes: organize and plan work, control the achievement of results. Together with the business team, you will develop a development plan, suggest ideas that accelerate development and hypothesis testing. • Forming a technical development plan You will choose technologies for future features, develop Intercity microservices, and deal with reliability issues. • Hypothesis testing We are developing and improving a service for shared planned trips, upgrading the pricing mechanism, accounting for fixed prices, surcharges for increased demand and forecasts, marketing campaigns, creating a separate entry point in the application and a booking flow specifically for intercity planned trips.

We expect you to: • Have led a development team of 4+ people • Be able to motivate, develop, and evaluate employees • Understand the principles of organizing development processes • Be ready to participate not only in the technical but also in the product development of the projects you are involved in It will be a plus if you: • Have worked with microservice and event-driven architecture • Have developed in C++ — we use the userver framework • Know what proprietary data centers are and are familiar with the requirements for a high level of reliability
