C Developer (Db2 / Performance Optimization)

C Developer for Db2 and performance optimization at HuntTech, remote, salary 200-250k RUB, full-time.

Tasks: - Profile the pipeline end-to-end and find real bottlenecks in algorithms, C code, and Db2; - Build basic performance metrics and regression checks to prove the safety of each change; - Refactor and optimize legacy C / Embedded SQL code while maintaining exact result identity; - Increase throughput by improving algorithms, SQL, batching, and parallel processing (OpenMP); - Present results and trade-offs to the client's technical management in English.

Requirements: - English for direct technical communication with the client; - Strong commercial C development experience on Linux; - Practical experience with IBM Db2 and Embedded SQL (strong Pro*C or similar experience may be considered); - Multithreading in C; preferably OpenMP; - Proven performance optimization experience: profiling, algorithm and SQL optimization, measurable results; - Confident work with large legacy codebases; - Active use of AI coding tools (Claude Code or similar). Nice to have: - Intel C compiler / toolchain (icc, VTune); - Large batch data processing / ETL; - Genomics or bioinformatics domain.
