Backend Engineer (Scala)

AvantStay seeks a Backend Engineer to build software for short-term home rentals: bookings, payments, distribution, marketing, guest/owner workflows. Scala stack, remote contract, $6k–$12k gross/month.

AvantStay is a short-term home rental company that builds its own software for the business: bookings, payments, distribution, marketing, guest and owner workflows, and operational house services. We are looking for someone interested in owning a project end-to-end: understand the problem, talk to users, propose a solution, implement and launch it. After launch, verify that it is actually used and the task is solved, collect feedback, and refine it. We build tools that help the team organize work with homes: from cleanings, inspections, and reviews to communication with homeowners. The domain is large: today we work on tax integration with Airbnb, tomorrow we launch new cameras in homes and teach an internal AI agent to work with our internal data and advertising portals. We provide a lot of autonomy and the ability to influence what and how we build.
