Backend Developer (Java/Kotlin)

Backend Developer (Java/Kotlin) at Detsky Mir. 3-6 years experience. Remote/hybrid/office. Develop REST API, Kafka, PostgreSQL.

Develop REST API and business logic for cart, checkout, delivery, orders and payments. Design integrations with internal services: synchronous calls and event exchange via Kafka using Protobuf and Avro. Coordinate API and event contracts with web and mobile developers and analysts. Work with PostgreSQL: write queries, prepare migrations in Liquibase, use JDBC and jOOQ. Apply Redis for cart sessions and caching. Improve service reliability: configure timeouts, retries and circuit breaker, ensure idempotency and think through behavior when dependencies are unavailable. Manage feature flags in Unleash. Participate in design, conduct code reviews, write tests and analyze incidents. Work in a cross-functional team with backend, web and mobile developers, QA, analysts and product — from task discussion to release to production.

At least 3 years of commercial backend development in Java and/or Kotlin, experience with production services. Solid knowledge of Spring/Spring Boot, experience in REST API development. Good knowledge of SQL, experience with relational databases, JDBC or jOOQ and schema migrations. Practical experience with Kafka, Redis and Kubernetes. Understanding of distributed systems: event redelivery, idempotency, consistency of payment and order status. Ability to write maintainable code and test it: JUnit 5, Testcontainers, integration scenarios. Readiness to discuss decisions, propose improvements and bring changes to production. Nice to have: Experience in payments, fiscalization or delivery calculation. Work with observability tools: Micrometer, Prometheus, Elastic APM. Experience using AI tools in development.
