The Chronicle of Higher Education seeks freelance authors for The Review and Advice sections; remote, per-material pay, English working language.

The Chronicle of Higher Education is accepting pitches for two sections: The Review (essays, reviews, longreads about academic life) and Advice (practical tips for teachers and administrators). To apply, submit a 1–2 paragraph pitch in English with subject line "Pitch: [pitch essence]", covering the topic, your argument, why now, and why you.

Fluent English (materials and correspondence with editor are in English). Original, lively text with a clear point of view (for Review) or practical how-to format without theorizing (for Advice). Advice: 1000–1800 words, conversational style, no jargon or footnotes. Material must be written by a human, not AI. Publication experience is a plus but not required.

Remote, freelance. Payment per material. Working language: English.
