Anti-Fraud Operator
Fintech company seeks an Anti-Fraud Operator to monitor transactions, investigate suspicious cases, handle refunds and disputes, and participate in KYC checks. Remote work, schedule and salary negotiable.
Monitor transactions and identify anomalies: charges to services that don't match user's usual purchases, series of declines, sharp spikes in card activity. Investigate suspicious cases to completion: reconstruct chronology, determine source (fraud, service error, or issuer bank issue) and coordinate actions: freeze, close, return to work. Control card closures: cards sent for closure should not accumulate declines or allow subscriptions; each extra decline costs money. Handle refunds and disputes: collect data for requests, record in spreadsheet, monitor supplier fulfillment deadlines. Resolve freezes: determine why card is deactivated while showing as 'Active', request unblock from supplier and track such cases. Participate in KYC checks per card supplier requirements. Build and maintain a database of payment errors: decline codes (Insufficient funds, 'transactions ... blocked by rules imposed on your account', etc.) with descriptions and solutions, plus list of services where payment never goes through. Prepare regular reports: declines, disputed charges, freezes, losses - with numbers, not feelings.
Experience in anti-fraud, risk monitoring, chargebacks, or fintech/payment service support. Understanding of card transaction lifecycle: authorization, decline, refund, chargeback, response codes. Proficient in Google Sheets / Excel; SQL is a plus. Attention to detail and persistence: a case is closed when the cause is found, not when the first email is sent. Nice to have: Experience with prepaid cards and BIN sponsors, Apple Pay / Google Pay. Understanding of crypto top-ups (USDT / TRON / TON) and related risks.
